The property consists of 4 self contained very comfortable cottages, suitable for small to large groups. Meals can be arranged. These cottages are situated in the Capertee Valley which is purported to be the second largest enclosed canyon in the world, after the Grand Canyon.
Capertee Valley lies on the Eastern edge of the Great Dividing Range
It is surrounded by the Wollemi National Park and the Gardens of Stone.
The area is known as a prime birdwatching area & renowned for sightings of the threatened Regent Honeyeater, as well as many other rare birds.
There is also a variety of flora & fauna unique to the area.
It was in the Wollemi National Park, part of the World Heritage designated areas, that the Wollemi Pine was discovered. Although only 3 hours drive from Sydney, the valley offers a wonderful sense of remoteness & peace & quiet....far from the madding crowd.There are no shops or cafes to tempt one..........it is a place to reconnect with yourself & nature.
The surrounding escarpments are stunningly majestic & offer an amazing backdrop to the accompanying rural farming landscape
Activities in the valley include historic tours of the Ruins of the Oil Shale Plant @ Glen Davis, bushwalking, mountain biking, painting, photography, abseiling, birdwatching, star gazing, exploring areas like the Colo River, Airlie Mt., Torbane., etc., In the vicinity there is Mudgee to visit with it’s vineyards & olives, cafes & shops, Rylstone, Dunn Swamp for a canoeing experience, Hill End, Sofala, & Turon Gates etc
Or one can simply just relax with a book & do absolutedly nothing & just completely unwind......
